Intuned at 2:00 to Thunder Road.No signal when I checked a few minutes ago. S9+20 now

137
Wow!  Big 'ol inbooming signal from Mr Weed tonight 15 over S9 on my R75 with a crappy 10 meter piece of wire for an antenna. Talking about the apparent disappearance of Mentholyptus. Really great signal

138
They're about S5 or 6 here but seem to be improving. ID at 0:21 followed by music. First time logging them here too.

HERESY!!  Don't pay attention to GH's list? I've never heard of such a thing. I suppose you didn't celebrate Hauser day on the 12'th of April either?

Also mentioned in GH's group with recordings & sonograms

UNIDENTIFIED. 11222, May 2 at 0516, regular series of pulses, slow enough to count, as the number of pulses between pauses is continuously changing. Not pure carrier CW, but ``fuzzy`` with some modulation so you don`t really need BFO to hear it, but it helps. Pinpointing frequency also difficult, somewhere around 11221-11222.

Is this some different kind of ``numbers`` station? Instead of real Morse numbers or `cut numbers` with letters substituting, just count the number of pulses each time. But unbroken series of pulses go beyond just 10, as many as 25 during the few minutes I copied them all; representing alfabetic letters, then? But most of the pulse groups are in the low-single-digits, which doesn`t make sense for that. Here`s what I copied from 0516 to 0520 or so:

2 - 7 - 4 - 2 - 2 - 1 - 1 - 10 - 2 - 5 - 2 - 6 - 2 - 5 - 8 - 4 - 1 - 7 - 2 - 7 - 6 - 16 - 8 - 1 - 3 - 5 - 12 - 3 - 4 - 9 - 6 - 1 - 1 - 2 - 17 - 1 - 4 - 6 - 2 - 10 - 1 - 4 - 1 - 16 - 16 - 16 - 5 - 13 - 3 - 7 - 1 - 14 - 4 - 6 - 7 - 1 - 3 - 2 - 4 - 1 - 6 - 3 - 1 - 1 - 10 - 5 - 1 - 10 - 11 - 2 - 5 - 2 - 3 - 25 - 8 - 5 - 2 - 5 - 4 - 6 - 8 - 13 - 1 - 1 - 7 - 10 - 1 - 4 - 6 - 4 - 1 - 4 - 2 - 1 - 1 - 2 - 3 - 3 - 6 - 11 - 2 - 1 - 3 - 2 - 2 - 1 - 7 - 13 - 3 - 18 - 6

Can anyone decode that? I did not pay attention to where some longer pauses were, perhaps separating these into groups. Steady strength and probably not too far away, altho the 11 MHz SWBC band was open from Europe, Africa, South America, New Zealand. Also British VOLMET on 11253-USB. Recheck at 1210 UT May 2, it`s still there with the same thing, also at 1314, 1353.

Then searching on 11222 in the UDXF yg, we find 23 messages so far about this since May 1, heard from Europe to eastern North America to New Zealand, subject ``Pulsing "frog" signal 11222Khz LSB``, including:

Synesthetix posted: ``A weird one. Some kind of radar? Audio, 6 minutes:

Nils Schiffhauer, DK8OK: ``should be 11.220 USB, TE-204/USC-11 modem of US Air Force; measured baud rate of 150 Baud, four channels (Signals Analyser). See also: http://bit.ly/R6fSRh 73 Nils, DK8OK``

Mike Chace-Ortiz: ``It sounds like a broken USAF TE204 4FSK modem. Rarely heard these days``

Paul V. Zecchino, Manasota Key, Florida: ``Sounds even better on 11,220 USB, often used as secondary to 11175. Perhaps the airman forgot to break down the data link after phone patch was complete? Very strong at FL Gulf Coast QTH, within 150 miles of Cape Canaveral/Patrick AFB, etc.``

Brodyflavin: ``I haven't tracked this much today, but for those of you who have what are the max number of buzzes heard in a series? It would be stupid to do it this way, but im wondering if a number of buzzes corresponds to a certain letter or number? We'll never know for sure, I know...``

Nils, DK8OK: ``found also this info:
http://signals.radioscanner.ru/base/signal82/
showing this signal in full swing and not seemingly distorted as now on 11.220 kHz``

Tony, Maidens, Scotland: ``I reviewed this very book in March in my blog and did put a link to it on here, obviously it was missed by some of you – much like Nils email ages ago describing exactly what the signal was!! The link to the review is:

Pretty good audio from them tonight with program about the demise of the Albanian royal family. This is the first time I've remembered to try them in A14.

142
JBA carrier with audio at the wishful thinking threshold.

2:51z   Trying for RFW on my R 75 with a different antenna & they are slightly better but still JBA. I'm pretty sure I heard Mr Weeds distinctive voice & some music.

Intuned at 1:53z Using PL880 tonight as I walk my hound. WWR ID at 1:55. much Grampa Jones & talk of smackng in the mouth. 28 Dbu on Pl880. Interesting that I never lost the signal even inside of 7-11. Thats very unusual.

I didn't have time to mention it last night but as I was inside of 7-11 with my PL880 in my hand a guy in line behind me asked if I was listening to the ball game (silly ball games) & I responded that I was hearing a new pirate station & that got everybody's attention. I unplugged the phones & let the assembled group of cigarette & beer purchasers hear. I had to give a very short lecture on what shortwave is & why it is so damn cool..."it bounces off of the sky". a couple of guys came outside with me & asked where to get a radio like that, etc. I directed them to HFU to learn about it & to Twente to actually hear stuff without having to invest any money. One guy was actually taking notes.

a pretty entertaining show with good reception here. Thanks WWR.

There is a low power station on 11 meters from Moscow that is often heard in North America every Friday. Radio Magic Eye operates with 400 watts from Moscows Technical University on 25900 from 12:00-15:00.

I haven't checked for it for several weeks so I don't know for sure that they are still on.

I had considered the things I see in sleep paralysis to be hallucinations but there have been a few times (three or four at most) where I see things that I could not possibly see from where I lay sleeping. Like something in the next room but as I said it is only possible to "go" a short distance & it takes some effort to do that. I haven't experienced this in quite a while but I remember being in the sleep paralysis state & being aware that I was asleep & deciding to attempt getting up & walking around. It took a herculean effort & I remember sort of crying out as I "got up" like it was almost painful to do so & I went down the hall & saw into the next room & thought at the time "this is weird...what the hell am I doing?" & I just sort of went back to where I was sleeping. I don't mean I walked back or even ran back I just "went back". I woke up a minute later & thought about what I had just done & I distinctly remember saying out loud "what the fuck was that??" I went to where I had just been in my sleep a minute earlier & the room was just exactly as I had seen it in my sleep. My older brother (we were room mates at the time) was sitting with his feet on the table smoking a cigarette & reading the sporting news. It was much the same when I tried to get my old ladies attention as I mentioned in my first post. It was as conscious decision to get up & move about & it took a supreme effort to do so & I could not go very far once I managed to get up. I saw Tracy sitting there watching TV & tried & tried to shout at her & then suddenly I was back ,for lack of a better term "in my body" & I woke a minute later totally aware of everything that had happened. All the other instances of sleep paralysis have been me just lying there awake but not awake  with none of this moving about silliness. The whole out of body thing kind of freaked me out at the time & still does now that I think about it again.

146
Not quite paranormal , but definitely weird. I have this thing where I wake up, usually after a nap in the afternoon though it has happened in the morning, & I am fully conscious & can see the room around me but cannot speak or move. I have at times been able to sort of get up (out of body?) & see what is in the next room but never more than maybe ten feet away from where I apparently am lying asleep. I once stood beside a chair shouting at my wife but I was asleep on the couch in the next room. The farther I get from "where I am" the less I am able to see & move towards & I have never been able to turn around & see myself sleeping. This happened more when I was younger & it has happened not at all in the last few years. I did a lot (I mean A LOT) of drugs up until ......well... just the other day & always assumed it was somehow related to all the LSD I did in my 20's but it is pretty much standard "out of body" stuff. I am definitely not dreaming as the stuff I can see is actually there but I'm not there, I'm in bed asleep & I'm totally aware that I'm in bed asleep. I also have this thing where I always pretty much without fail wake up 1 or at most 2 minutes before my alarm goes off. I have considered but rejected the idea that I am fucking nuts although perhaps that might bear further consideration.

This is just a transmitter feedback loop isn't it? No actual intelligence being sent just feedback.

Walking to get smokes with the hound early this morning & took out the PL660 to see what was on & found North Korea banging in on a couple of frequencies.

11710 KHz English program with "Ode to a big fat dictator" aka song of marshal Kim il sun. Outstanding reception on barefoot portable. // 15245 much weaker but still audible.

13650 KHz  Chinese service of Voice of Korea. I thought at first that this was in parallel with 11710 as they both were playing the same music "song of the fatties" or whatever but it was in Chinese after the wretched song ended. CRI is also on this frequency in Chinese at this hour with much more power (500 kw to NK's nominal 200 kw) but I was definitely hearing NK.

As I was sitting on a little bench in one of the "pocket parks" that Kansas City Missouri has so many of, an elderly lady came over to ask me what the thing I am always carrying & looking at so intently is. She was fascinated when I unplugged the headphones & we listened to "North Koreer" for a minute or two.

Really huge S9+30 here. I haven't remembered to intune this station in quite some time. Hell, I haven't even had time to turn on a shortwave radio all week so I'm enjoying myself tonight.

Nice big S9 +10 signal with music I cannot identify. Nice to hear you again Mr Weed.

If you're doing requests lets hear Star fucker (star star) by the Rolling Stones.
