10/11 meters / 27255 kHz 27.255 MHz FSK Data Link ΣSDR COMMSIGMA SDR KiwiSDR 1720 UTC 14 Dec 18

27255 kHz 27.255 MHz, 25 watts average or carrier power maximum TX under Part 95 of FCC rules.  There's a FSK data link signal readable on the ΣSDR KiwiSDR.  Not sure if this is the same network heard on the New York SDRs but it exhibits the same characteristics, with around 8 kHz of bandwidth. 

Listenable in FM or NFM mode but I generally tune into it in USB mode.  Some minor AM CB voice traffic QRM but when the frequency is clear you can see/hear the FSK signals buzzing away, albeit much weaker than other data networks on 27.255 MHz that I've heard.

4131 kHz 4.131 MHz USB mode.  Strong ute QRM on and nearby frequency is making copy extremely difficult.

Spanish voices on 7000 kHz USB 7.000 MHz 40 meter intruders 7 MHz band

Heard somebody tune up on these guys, then spin his VFO.  Lots of stations working CW on 7002 kHz or 7002.2 kHz.  Hearing Spanish language chatter on 7000 kHz USB making these users officially 40 meter band intruders (gasp!)  - because using frequencies in the aircraft band is any less potentially dangerous.  At 2126 UTC, a very strong CW signal on 7002.2 kHz (S9+20db) and we have a CW QSO now.  Not sure if the 7000 USB users are still there...yes, they are.  Strong CW jamming signals do nothing.

Received via COMMSIGMA SDR KiwiSDR on the CT/MA border.  7000 kHz is a popular spot.

6777.7 kHz USB 6777,7 - another easy to remember frequency - they're all over the band tonight!  Ragchew-like chatter with adjacent-channel QRM.  Two stations chatting about personal matters, talking about money issues and the usual.  OM laughing and carrying on.  SIO 222 with some fades to better conditions.

6666.6 kHz USB is another common watering hole.  Hearing a YL talking about the conditions at the border at 2116 UTC via the COMMSIGMA KiwiSDR on the CT/MA border.  Political banter, OMs and at least one YL talking.

I was tuning around the band after I noted activity on 6739 kHz, so I switched up to 8992 and noticed these guys.  I have logged 8989 kHz USB before, with similar sounding traffic.  Spanish speakers, although this time I hear more than one station.  I think they're talking about fishing, heard a couple mentions of "el barco" (the ship or the boat).  QRM from another QSO on 8990 kHz (probably another group of fishing boats...)

6950 kHz 6.950 MHz, hearing stations "checking in" to the net, saying hey whats up, the usual ham radio like (or freeband 11 meter CB like) chatter often heard around 6900 kHz and similar frequencies.  There's a huge wide data signal obliterating that portion of the band (including 6900 kHz) which may explain why 6920 kHz + is so much more active at the moment

6479 kHz 6.479 MHz - English language heard, OM and a YL talking, heavy Carribean accents...sounds like a husband and wife talking?  Reminds me of the radiotelephone-like QSOs heard.  Possibly speaking a pidgin language, because I just heard "get you tomorrow?" "talk tomorrow" and then something in what sounded like French at 2156 UTC.  I think this is a fishery radio net, or a fishermen talking to his wife.  "He's going to the ship" at 2157.  Confirmation that this is maritime-related.  "ya okay" sounds like Caribbean origin.

Another UNID Spanish language net in the 6200 kHz to 6525 kHz marine band.  Another easy to remember frequency.  6444.4 USB was used, so why not 6465 USB?

6444.4 kHz USB 6444,4 kHz - yet another easy to remember frequency.  Hearing some Spanish language chatter, sounds like your usual pescadore or freebander chat (talking about politics as I'm typing this at 2150 UTC).  Lots of rushing ute data QRM on frequency and nearby frequency.  Since most of the radios that these guys are using likely only show one decimal point, the use of the strange offset makes a lot of sense.  See also: 6666.6 kHz, 6767.6 kHz, 6555.5 kHz, etc. etc.

Hearing Pyongyang Broadcasting Station on 6400 kHz as well as two different groups of Spanish speaking stations, one of which is using 6400 kHz USB and the other is using 6402 kHz USB.   A real mess.  Good copy on the 6400 USB stations especially considering the heavy QRM.  Received at 2145 UTC on the COMMSIGMA KiwiSDR on the CT/MA border.  A great online remote receiver!

6209 kHz 6.209 MHz, this is actually a legal HF-SSB 6 MHz marine frequency, falls in line with the channel plan and everything.  Spanish speaking OMs chatting away, probably fishing fleet communications.  Strong FSK data signal on frequency.  Received via COMMSIGMA KiwiSDR on the CT/MA border.
