Music w/ YL announcer and canned jingles w/ deep voiced OM. Decent signal. SIO 232.

"Dreadlock Holiday" I haven't heard that song in years. 10cc was really big when that one was released.

I always got a kick out of White guys trying to sound Jamaican or like ancient blues singers from Mississippi. Yeah, I'm talkin' to you Eric and Mick.

I've been listening for about 40 minutes, got a positive ID a couple of minutes before the top of the hour, OM announcer. Eclectic music line up. About an S-7. Signal is affected by static crashes but is improving, music is very audible now. A mix Al Andalus guitar tunes and Western pop music. YL announcer in SS.

Heard on a KIWI from Smolinski's Farm, 120 ft. TFD.

Ray, I've heard rumors they only run 15 watts of carrier? For the past couple of weeks I've been able to hear them nightly on the Kiwi and antenna combos on Old Man Smolinski's farm.

Music w/ OM announcer decent signal, best on 6931. Playing rock at the moment. Anyone else hearing this?

edit by Ray Lalleu :
that was Indy Radio in Europe, on 6931.1
(and the UTC date was already 10 of October)

Techno and rock music. Male announcer but hard to make out what he's saying due to a Stateside pirate on 6930 LSB.

For a station that's supposed to be running 15 watts, this is the second weekend in a row I've heard something on their frequency. Partial ID at 22:39utc. that sounded like "You're listening to Indy Radio."  fading up and down.

Westminster, MD. KIWI SDR 250 ft. V-beam aimed at Europe. SIO 222

Westminster, MD. KIWI w/ 58ft. TFD battling OTH Radar. Weak w/ OM announcer and some music. Anyone else hear this one with better results?

I've been on Rue Montmartre. A lot of hookers there dressed like nuns. Italy is overrun with the same.

Guy talking, barely above the noise. Sounds like Butthead from "Beavis And Butthead." SIO 333. Westminster, KiwiSDR. Boy, does this thing need a RF gain knob!

He needs to do something about that unstable oscillator.

A lot of the stuff in that range is religious. I wonder if it was Pastor Melissa Scott trying to raise money by selling her old videos?

The penguins are getting ready to start their migration back from the Arctic to the Antarctic soon. Are you prepared? Do you have heavy steel helmets to protect your family from low flyers, shot dense enough to discourage the angriest Emperor penguins as they dive at terminal velocity, their dense, hardened, depleted uranium beaks aimed directly at your eyes or the soft spot on your newborn baby's head? (I recommend 10 gauge buck and ball, lead only, from that gauge of gun from any reputable maker, to deal with the death diving baby killers.) On the ground, they're slow, but launching themselves from the water or diving from the air, deadly.

Remember to stay away from any body of water during the migration season. That cute water feature in your backyard could be the death of you if walk out to see what all the noise is? Pierced by a penguin isn't a pretty way to go out, yet thousands perish that way twice a year. Remember to be careful this season, stay away from the water, and look up.

Does anyone know what happened to him and his old war horse, Mr. Stinky? He was a good guy and a pal of the late Al Fansome.

Equipment / Who here doesn't have a MFJ ATU?
« on: May 26, 2022, 0157 UTC »
It seems like everyone who lists their equipment on radio forums has at least one, but in face to face conversations they've got nothing good to say about them. I've got three or four and think they're dandy. Nothing wrong with something that's cheap and does the job.
